Wish I would have got into the business at the ground floor. Hope your business is doing well! I just gave up selling Scentsy because I was spending too much on it myself.
I have 8 table warmers and 3 nightlight warmers. I love this idea and will definitely try it! Tiffany can you give suggestions or do you have a list of what would be the best new scents to use that would be compatible with the old scent that was already used?
I know once my waxes are used they still have a slight dull odor. I found so far that Jasmine is going with the scents I use. I generally use flowery scents. Anyway so I use Hawaiian, Lavender, all flowery. Mine all had a trace of scent left as well, but adding the Jasmine worked very well with it, so far. I am going to try vanilla and maybe lavendar. I have to check. I have peppermint, but this is the wrong time of year for that.
Question, if you are re using scentsy wax and adding fragrance Couldnt you just add fragrance to scentsy wax while still in the scensty pot? I can finally call myself a scentsy owner. Ian so glad that I found this because I will surely be tryn this over the weekend.
Thank you so much. I use glade and air wick plug in refills for the oil. I also use the warmers from Walmart and they work exactly the same as expensive. I have bought that oil at Walmart and tried it. It didnt work for me. I dont know why maybe because its not a real essential oil??? So fragrance oils while cheaper have a weaker scent most of the time and are sometimes even bad for you, essential oils on the other hand usually have health benefits hope that cleared that up.
Hi Melissa, Can you please tell me how much of the glade pluggin oil do you add to 1 lb of wax and what type of wax? You can email me please!! Genrosado yahoo. Would you pls tell me the steps how to make the blade melts. Thank you! My email: hardypattie5 gmail. We moved from a new home to a 50 year old home. I am addicted to smells as well.
I have tried charcoal, kilz, vinegar, bleach, odo ban, and about a million other things all to no avail. I am constantly boiling something to make the house smell better…my efforts seem endless. I have 3 openings into my attic upstairs. I cannot figure out what to do in those areas to permanently get rid of the smell of old. I LOVE my home but there is not a day that goes by that I do not miss our last home which was new and smelled wonderful everyday! I am open to ANY suggestions.
I know many of you understand how I feel. Have you tried a room diffuser? You can get one in vitamin section at Walmart. Use essential oils. You can also get some at Walmart in vitamin section. There are recipes on Pinterest for all 4 seasons, of what essential oils to use together and how much. Various odors came with every house. This sounds a bit crazy but I found Massengill feminine products were awesome! I purchased the powder, mixed a small amount with hot water in a spray bottle and shook well.
I sprayed every filter and vent with the spray. I sprayed curtains, closets, kitchen cabinet interiors, etc. This was years before Febreeze, in my opinion it works better for me. One tenant had an angry male cat that liked to spray the walls. The animal was not listed on the application so no pet fee. Lesson learned. I had to remove all carpet and padding. I repeated that process several times over a week.
I sprinkled dry Massengill on the subloor prior to the installation of new flooring. I also sprinkled the powder on the filters. I scrubbed the corners the mad male cat had sprayed with the strong hot mix. It was a busy 10 days but I was able to rent the house without any smells.
I like that idea! I always have candles that burn down to a certain point and then the wick is gone but there is still wax there. Could you start out with a fresh block of parafin wax and add your own scents from the beginning or is there a difference in candle wax and parafin wax? Does your candle melt before you get to use all your melt? I find out that mine melt, melted before I could use all of them.
I fallow your DIY. When We my boyfriend and I had our garage sell,I wanted to sell my melt and they melted before I could get them out to sell. Can Scentsy warmers be left on all the time? Its safe to keep on like any lamp, but because its hot you should keep away from loose fabrics or anywhere it can be knocked over.
The big ones can probably go longer. I leave mine on all the time, but I shouldn't. Why do my wax melts not smell? If you're experimenting with using a potpourri crock, they can get too hot for your wax melts and quickly burn the fragrance out of your melt, causing it lose scent quickly. Also, if you have a wax warmer without a timer, make sure you set an alarm so that you don't waste your wax melts' scent.
What do you do with old Scentsy wax? The wax melt packaging recommends that you pour the melted wax back into the clamshell packaging to dispose of it. You'll need: An empty cardboard egg carton. A couple weeks' worth of dryer lint. Any leftover wax melts that you no longer need. Is it safe to leave wax warmer on all the time? Although fire danger from an open flame is eliminated, you have good reason not to leave a candle warmer unattended or burning for extended amounts of time.
These include overheating, electrical wire damage, trip hazard from the chord, electrocution from water spills and smoke from a candle too near the heating lamp. Are wax melts stronger than candles? Wax melts are more solidly aromatic than traditional candles, because they absorb heat more slowly and release aromas without burning the oils. The opposite happens when you burn a candle, as the heat from the flame keeps the wax at a higher temperature, causing a faster release of fragrance into the air.
Are wax melts bad for you? So when the wax melts, the chemicals are released into the air. Some candles, especially paraffin candles, contain things like alkanes and toluene. Do I have to unplug my large warmer every night or can I leave it turned on for several days at a time? I really like the smell in the house and I like to use the light as a night light for my family.
You can leave your large warmer plugged in as long as you want! Remember, many authentic Scentsy candle warmers double as a night light or small lamp and can be treated like any other lamp. Keep in mind though, the fragrance emitted from your warmer will only last so long, and that often depends on which scented wax fragrance you are using. Typically, my husband and I like to change our wax every 24 hours or so. Also, just link any other lamp, the more you use it, the more often light bulbs will need to be replaced.
Your comment comes at a good time for us to remind our visitors, the scented wax does not evaporate. Click or tap here to take advantage of this great deal!
This is s tough one! You could try using a blow dryer to heat the area. Be patient with this as you may have to go through the process repeatedly to get the job done. Once the wax is removed, you may need to dab it with rubbing alcohol. Do you know which size this style of warmer is?
You can see for yourself the light bulb sizing chart here at our website. Buy Lightbulbs! Yes, absolutely you can use the warmers as nightlights, without wax.
You are right, the traditional warmers with bulbs look lovely, especially at night time in low light rooms. Was cleaning my warmer, and apparently there was a leak somehow, now there is wax in the bulb socket. Am I able to clean it, or will have to get a new warmer?
Wow Victoria! You are in a bit of a fix. The first thing you want to do is of course, is to unplug your warmer. Then, try blotting the wax up with a paper towel. Fitting the paper towel down inside the socket might be tricky, so you may have to try experimenting with using a Q tip. I believe it could be done, and you should be able to avoid buying a new warmer. I guess we missed replying your comment.
He says when he opens the door to his office on Friday mornings, he can still smell the scent he placed in the warmer on Monday morning. For me, when I melt about one cube every 20 to 30 hours. Some fragrances do last longer than others and you just have to experiment. The bulb blew out and I do not know what size bulb to replace it with.
I purchased a 25 watt bulb but that is too big and round. There are only three possible light bulb sizes used for most Scentsy warmers. The largest is a 25 watt bulb and that bulb is round. At this time, that bulb only works in one or two old time themed warmers. Only your nose, really knows!! I do not think so because I have had my full sized Scenty warmer on a wooden dresser for a couple a months and there have been no marks or burns.
I know the dish will get hot but would it burn if there is no candle on it? We sometimes use our Scentsy warmers as a nightlight, without wax and have no problems. Yes, the dish will still get hot so always use caution, with or without wax.
For safety purposes, always treat your warmers as you would an electric lamp or desk light. The light bulb or heating element can make the warmer quite hot, just like a lamp. I guess, the only exception would be if you are using one of our new Scentsy battery operated warmers.
I have the gnome wax melt burner. Do I leave his hat top on while burning the wax melts. Or take it off???? Typically, Scentsy warmer dishes are made of either ceramic or glass. I have a Scentsy warmer is every main room in my home. I would burn 3 candles for three hours and my whole house Would smell for hours. I put two cubes into my large warmers and one and a half into my smaller ones. I also have two plug-ins and I put one cube into each.
Am I doing something wrong? I have two in my kitchen and two in my family room. I put two waxes of the same scent in each warmer but only really smell it the first day. I also have a plug in my my entryway that seems to disperse the smell pretty good. Honestly, it sounds like you are making every effort so I imagine part of the problem is the AC. As you know, the air conditioning keeps circulating the air and filters the return air through a filter as it cycles.
Keep in mind though, our noses get used to smelling the same fragrances. We have found, if we leave the house for a while, when we return we can still small the fragrances throughout the house.
Also, often the best fragrances are quite subtle and our visitors always comment on how great the house always smells. I have a plug in scentsy warmer and wonder why the plug in part can be turned so the ground plug is at the top? What am I doing wrong? Once again, we were not receiving our notifications so we apologize for being so late with replies.
Have at look at the video on this post and my husband sshows how to adjust the warmer plug to be up or down. I am looking for a heating element replacement for my pineapple wax burner, I am hoping you can help me. Heating elements cannot be replaced. Sorry, I know these comment replies are late but we were having website issues and not receiving our notifications. You probably figured out by now, the warmers use the scented wax, not the oils. We just added a video created by Scentsy so you can check this out to find more information on using our Scentsy diffusers.
Thanks so much for providing these tips. I purchased a warmer from you for a Christmas gift and my daughter loved it! Thank you Sandra! I got involved selling Scentsy simply because I always loved scented candles. I used to have Salt City candles everywhere.
I never really was a Yankee candle fan. Once I discovered this safer to enjoy scented wax, I feel it was worth sharing. I have a scentsy in every room in my house 6 in total.
I buy my favorite ones when on sale and keep them to give as gifts. I absolutely love them. When the waxes lose most of the fragrance I take it out and put the waxes in my dresser drawers. Makes everything smell nice. How much clearance do I need for the wax warmer? Can I put it on my kitchen counter w cabinets above? Yep, I have two warmers in my kitchen that sit on top of the counter and below the upper cabinets. As far as clearance, so long as you have enough room to access the dish to remove and replace the scented wax, you should be good.
If you are not comfortable with the little bit of heat, go with one of our cordless battery warmers. I have a 25 watt bulb that came with my white ceramic kitchen pitcher electric Senstsy melter. Every time I plug it in it smells like something is overheating. Is that normal or should it have come with a different Bulb. If you purchased the Scentsy Lemonade Pitcher Warmer, the 25 watt bulb is the correct wattage for that warmer.
However, there should not be an overheating smell. In our home we treat all our traditional tabletop type warmers just like we do any table lamp. The light bulbs generate heat and do get quite hot, just like a 25 watt bulb in a lamp. Make sure your warmer is not touching anything on the sides. Also, double check there is no left over plastic inside the warmer next to the bulb. Once upon a time, I forgot to remove the plastic from my light bulb and of course, we had a melted plastic small and had to replace the bulb.
I am new to Scentsy and have what may be a very dumb question. If you have multiple warmers throughout the house, do you use the same fragrance in all of them? Is it too much sensory overload to have different fragrances going? I also use multiple in my home and yes, I often use different fragrances however I usually try to keep the same fragrances downstairs and then perhaps something different upstairs.
Also, if I have a closed room that can be different as well. It really depends on conditions within the home. For instance, a sq ft room could have very high vaulted ceilings and another may have low, 8t ceilings.
