Why is queens commerce so expensive

Have one week left to decide where to go Regurgitating some stuff here from my other thread in hopes of getting some responses: I've been accepted to both Queen's Commerce and Schulich BBA and am having a hard time making a decision. The deadline to accept is very quickly approaching too. Going to Schulich will also save me a lot of money since I won't have to pay really high tuition fees and won't have to live on residence. From my impressions, however, going to Queen's would probably give me a better small-knit community university experience compared to York's since its a commuter school.

I've visited Schulich and York before and I feel that I'd be able to really fit in there. Haven't visited Queens yet should probably do so but I have this impression that I won't really like the atmosphere there am a visible minority asian. Going to Schulich will also let me live in the GTA which I like but I've heard from other people that Queens is an overall better business school.

One other major concern I've got about queens is that I'll screw my family over financially if I decide to go we are on a modest income and are in no way like the affluent caucasians that I hear are so prominent at queens. How is the workload of both programs?

Like how many hours a week do you generally need for classes and studying? I heard Schulich has really intense and heavy workload? From your experience what is the graduation rate of both programs? Anyone want to comment these programs quality of them etc or on my situation and give some advice?

Looking for some opinions on what I should do. Thanks a bunch. The business programs are roughly equal in terms of prestige. Queen's has its following as an upper middle class caucasian school upper class types prefer ivy league schools or even universities in england, or uoft downtown. York is obviously quite minority heavy. Queen's has a better student scene by far, you will have more fun there if you're looking for 'the college experience' being able to hit the student bars, finding willing party girls [especially white ones] etc.

While york is pretty much what you'd expect. York will put you in position to have greater access to summer jobs, and also way more companies recruit there especially some of the smaller ones.

Networking opportunities are superior at york. It's definitely a commuter school though so don't expect that great of a student life. The accounting program at york is excellent though, make sure you choose and apply yourself in all the courses required for the CA designation and you have your life sorted not that you couldn't do this at queens. Queen's is the better program and that's not a slight to Schulich at all which is an excellent program in its own right. If your future is Accounting for sure then go to Schulich both are targets for the Big 4 and neither will give you an advantage here or there.

Rotman was roughly the same at queen's from what i recall, and being in a large city it is definitely easier to get a job there too on your own.

Hey, thanks for the replies guys. I really appreciate it. She asked the same questions. In the end she chose Queen's. Had summer jobs and never once took OSAP.
