He can make a great special sweeper or a baton passer. Stat wise, Alakazam wins; However, if you tell me which role they would have been, I can tell you their move dis advantages to your team. Helpful tips. Is alakazam or hypno better? What animal is Kadabra? Is Kadabra a good Pokemon? Is Kadabra worth it without evolving? I have Kadabra on my leaf green game but it is very weak to damage but is very good at special attacks please help me choose. PDL disenchanted. Hypno's alot cooler.
I like Hypno better. I don't think there is any slow or fast stat changes for the Hardy nature. Infinite Master Sceptile Bow to Groucho. Not very fast, but loads of fun to use.
Bling Slaking Bugger. Gonna go with Kadabra though his voice amuses me. Pure back. He's insanely fast compared to Hypno and has much more sp. Also, the only downside to Kadabra is his weak defense and semi-weak sp. However, his speed makes up for it. His strengths are magnified if you evolve him into the pokemon mentioned in my avatar and signature.
Sk rmory Put User Title Here. It's hard to say. I guess kadabra for it's speed and such. But Hypno is good too. They're both unique in their design and their movesets. New Horizons. Starmie was actually my go-to Psychic type for the first gen games, as soon as I was able to get my hands on one.
Of the two choices though, I always went with Kadabra over Hypno, even if I wasn't able to trade it at the time to get an Alakazam.

Starmie is a for sure though. And I guess using a Water Stone was less painful for someone like me who didn't actively engage in link cable trading.
Hpyno for sleep-induction and bulk. Alakazam for Special-abuse and speed. It's really really frail, but Speed and Special is still amazing.
A shame it can't learn Bubblebeam, and you don't get Psychic until Saffron. During the time that I had Blue and Yellow in physical Game Pak form, I never used either the Abra or Drowzee lines, but when I replayed Yellow via emulator around , I used the Abra line on my team, primarily for its high Speed and Special stats. I never really liked the idea of trade evolutions, so I never used the Abra line until I began using TGB Dual as my emulator so that I could trade between Generation I games, allowing me to have an Alakazam.
Sure, Hypno is slow as molasses, but its defense is somewhat better, and of course, Hypnosis, which is probably better than using a Grass type with Sleep Powder but really not by much.
I've already decided on my final Water and Psychic types for my Virtual Console playings of Red, Blue, and Yellow, none of which will have Starmie, unless I somehow change my mind later on. Respond Ignore User Report Delete. Psychic types pretty much dominated the first gen. Mr Mime, or Marcel as he was known, for this cool cat.
Maybe because I never was able to evolve my Kadabra which I love kadabra's desing , I think I had Hypno more often in my teams. I miiiiight be back? Originally Posted by Hands [ Original Post ].
